Get some exercise this new year with First Day Hikes

Start the new year off with some good exercise by participating in California state parks First Day Hikes. On Wednesday January 1st California State Parks will be hosting over 90 guided hikes at more than 70 of California’s greatest state parks.

The program offers guided hikes across various locations in California. Visit locations such as Angel Island, the California RedWoods, Calivera State park, and more. The best part is, all hikes are free for visiting guests. To find a hike, go to parks.ca.gov/FirstDayHikes. Once there, you can search for the hike you want by park name, county, and region. You can also type in your address to show nearby hikes.

When you go, remember to bring water, proper footwear, and good clothes. It’s also good to check the status of the park you want to go to incase of any unexpected occurrences. So stay safe, have fun, and get some exercise this new year with the first day hikes program.
